Seattle & Leavenworth

Last weekend was a long weekend, and we trooped off to Seattle.  We had quite the action-packed time, from attending our first Sikh wedding to visiting a little Bavarian-themed town called Leavenworth, a couple hours from Seattle.  We also got to meet little Ritwik - the newest baby on the block.

Whats on the menu?

Yoda enjoyed the pasta his mom cooked for him this evening.  And every part of him enjoyed it, from his arms, to his entire face, even extending out to the back of his head as he lovingly rubbed his oily hands into his hair.  The strawberries that were offered to him earlier in the afternoon met with a similar fate.

.    .
He's slowly moving to regular-type foods, though there is still some fussiness as to what will and will not be eaten.  The once-favorite Gerber Stage 2 food is being displaced, but his parents are not clear as to what the replacement is as yet.  On some days a veritable buffet makes its way out to the food table in an attempt to find something that is palatable to the young man.

He certainly knows what he wants, and now he's also started pointing out things he wants.  This, combined with his non-stop chattering to himself on Important Subjects, is quite amusing.

Hagg Lake

Last weekend brought us a break from the rain, and we spent the afternoon at Hagg Lake, about 45 minutes from home. Yo wanted to taste everything, including but not limited to moss-covered leaves and crunchy twigs.

Pleasanton, Spring 2009

Zeph and Josh were quite the doting older brothers to Yo. By the end of the week, he picked up quite a bit from his cousins, and was even eating more adult-type food. Zeph was quite the helpful older brother, and would watch out for Yohan, fetch clothes and diapers, etc etc. And Josh would do whatever bro Z did - down to repeating every word he said.

All the rambunctiousness of the Thomas brothers has apparently also transferred over to the quiet Narjala household - the boy is chattering away non-stop now, and is certainly exercising a lot more of his lung power. He's also rather vocal about his likes and dislikes, and vigorously shakes his head when food that is not up to his standards is being offered to him. Quite amusing to watch :)

Susan had a rough time on her way back with Yo - he was quite fussy on the plane, she had a headache, and eventually some throwup also wound it's way into the equation. Once he was back on terra firma, all was thankfully well.

Here are some pics from the Pleasanton trip.

And they're back!

The three of us went down to Pleasanton last weekend for Zephan's and Josh's birthdays. Susan and Yo stayed on for a week, and from all accounts a great time was had by all. It's just been a week, but I feel he grew up a bit (become more toddler-ish) while he was there... must be the influence of his older cousins.

Didn't know if he'd take a while to remember me when he got back. He stared at me somewhat curiously when I met them at the airport, but in a few minutes all was good and he was back to his chatter-box self :)

Pics coming soon.
