Kidscapes

Mamma has been having fun with a new lens, and the kiddos are willing (hah!) subjects.

Mika's turn

The little girl is currently a copycat of her big bro - what he does / says / eats / plays with must be followed instantaneously.  She has little to no interest in anything remotely girlish, preferring instead dump trucks, bikes, and fast cars.  "No" has not been displaced yet as her favorite word, and she is not shy about using it.

Yohanisms contd.

Here are some more insights from the young man...

Ranjit to Yohan when 'Oprah' was on TV with her audience of excited, yelling ladies: "Why are the ladies screaming, Yohan?"
Yohan's profound answer after a couple seconds of deep pondering: "They nuts, dada!"
----
Susan singing 'Wheels on the Bus' to the kids: "The Dadas on the bus say "Shoo, shoo, shoo""
Yohan stops her. "The dadas don't say shoo, shoo. The mommies say shoo. The dadas play with the little boys in the bus."
----
Yo to dada, stern-faced: "You stand in the corner now.  You need to teach a lesson."
(Intending to repeat what mom and dad do to him all too frequently).
----

Catching up with Yo

Been a long time since we've posted - I guess the weekends have been passing us by all too quickly.  Here are some videos of the older munchkin.

Yo's pronunciation of  'tomato' - which he very well knows is incorrect, but sticks with it since it brings much mirth to his parents.

The boy loves to make up his own words to songs. All the more so when the camera is rolling.

We've been "bribing" him with his ultimate favorite todays - cars from the movie 'Cars' - to help speed along potty training from the non-existent pace it's moving at right now. This is when Red the Firetruck came to visit all the way from Radiator Springs to celebrate one of the momentous occasions.

A chat with Mika

Malaika holds some very strong opinions, and has no qualms in stating them. Her default answer to most things is a quick 'No', accompanied by a mischievous smile and twinkle in her eye (most times, at least). She's got quite the vocabulary now, and knows all the key words necessary to make herself well-understood.
