Family pics
Chetan/Raji's Diwali party and Mika's dedication over the last couple weeks afforded us an opportunity to get some group pics.
Malaika's Dedication
Malaika's baby dedication was at church last week, and her momma got her all dolled up. The verse we picked for her was the same one Susan and I picked our for our wedding: John 1:16, which says 'From the fullness of his grace we have received one blessing after another'. That was certainly true when Yohan was born, and it continues to be true with the blessing of little Mika.

Malaika's 2 month stats
Weight: 9 lbs 6 oz
Little Malaika has started smiling at us, in response to things we do/say. She's got such a cute smile (like her mom, if I might add :) She's a lot more aware of people and her surroundings now, and will calmly sit in her swing and just take in all the proceedings.

Changing of the Guard
After three months of being an incredible blessing to us, Ammama headed back last weekend to CA, and is actually on her way back to India right now.
Gama and Gampa arrived not a moment too soon to help us with the munchkins. This past week I don't think they even had a chance to get over jet-lag - they've jumped right in! The little people (i.e. Yo, for the most part) are keeping them on their toes.

Yo's 18 month stats
Height: 31"
Weight: 21 lbs 9 oz
Yo is slowly building up his vocabulary, and certainly understands pretty much everything we say these days. He knows who mama and dada are, who baby is, and who his grandparents are. He's eating regular food for the most part - we (and by we I mean Susan) typically don't need to make something separate for him. He's also getting quite the independent streak in him - knows what he wants and doesn't want, and certainly knows how to get what he wants. He's a high-energy ball of fun most of the time, and is turning into a cute, mischievous little toddler. And he's so completely into cars and trucks now.

Yo Gabbing
For the past few months, Yo's vocabulary has been expanding. But getting him to 'toddler talk' on camera has been a close-to-impossible feat. Till today. Yippee. We caught a large part of his about 20-word vocab (many of his "words" are animal sounds) on tape this evening.

7 weeks...
... and two days, to be exact. Malaika is becoming more alert and awake these days; she's even started to smile just a tiny bit in response to us (so far just her mom and ammama). We get some alone time with her when Yo goes to sleep in the evenings. That's also when she gets to hang out in her swing and play mat; during the day she is generally kept out of reach of her inquisitive brother.

A month gone by
Our little Malaika is 40 days old today and she's gone through more than enough for an infant. Other than the last couple of days (which have been quite a roller-coaster ride), the last month has been peaceful because we seem to have been blessed with a very calm, content baby. She loves being held and as long as she's in someone's arms she is easily consoled. Little glimpses of her smile have made their appearance, and we're looking forward to lots more of that!
Our little princess
