This was Yo's project at Sunday School today:
One of the verses they taught the kids today was: "Even the hairs on my head are numbered" (indicating how much God knows and cares about us). When I asked Yo what that means, he said:
"That means God counted my hair so that I have enough".

Spring weekends
Yes, still claiming this is spring since summer seems but a distant dream at this point.
The fair was also in town recently, and the kids relived a mini-Disneyland experience.
7am
It has been drilled into the kiddos that they shouldn't be bothering mama and dada until at least 7am in the morning. They have happily ignored all such dire threats and warnings hitherto, but recently they have been showing signs that some of it has actually seeped in to their minds. A couple times have found them entertaining themselves quite happily until the parents are in a more awake state.
The little girl's growing up
After almost 4 years of big bro's "superheroes and bad guys" influence, Miss Mika is starting to get more into girl's stuff. She was all excited to get "make up" for her ballet recital, and recently her "handbag and purse" have become must-have accessories before departing the house.

Ballet recital rehearsal
Mika's actual ballet recital is next weekend. This week she had her rehearsal at the actual venue, and we were allowed to take photos/ videos at this one. Photography is apparently not allowed during the actual recital. She did really well, following all the steps for the most part. She also didn't exhibit any signs whatsoever of stage-fright; very impressive of her, given this was in a large gym and we were rather far away from the actual performance.
Belt test #2
This weekend was a busy one for kids' activities. Yo had his belt test, and Mika her ballet recital rehearsal. Yo has progressed on to "Basic Form #1B", which is a step up from "Basic Form #1A". So we are told; from our layman's perspective it looks like there are more steps in 1B. He also gets a red stripe on his belt now, adding to the green one.

Legos and trains
The boy scored a good number of Legos for this birthday earlier this year. He (and technically, his sis too) also got a great train set from B mama & Shanda A. It was a mini Christmas for dada too, as he enjoyed putting all this together. Good thing there was the excuse of "am doing it for the kids".

New rides
This weekend the munchkins got some replacements (and additions) for their old trikes that were sold at the garage sale. Mika got an early birthday present with her specially requested princess bicycle, and Yo got a similarly deeply desired scooter. This evening we took them out for a spin.
Yo on Marriage
Saw this on someone's FB and decided to ask wise, old Yohan the same questions. Here are his responses.
1) HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY?
Yohan: Ummm... with God's help. (Later on he added stuff about how "Sanson" in the Bible married a bad, bad lady and how we should marry good)
2) WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
Y: 55!
3) HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
Y: Because of the lady's big tummy....when the baby is coming out.
4) WHAT DO YOU THINK MAMMA AND DADA HAVE IN COMMON? WHAT DO WE LIKE TO DO TOGETHER?
Y: Helping each other, hugging and kissing, washing the dishes, cleaning and living in the same house.
5) WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
Y: Just go out. Eat and drink coffee.
6) WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
Y: When they're sad.
7) HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE BETTER?
Y: By dancing!
