Piammai Visits
This post is long overdue and I'm sure much awaited (especially by two retired Madrasis who would love to see pics of their pregnant daughter who refuses to learn how to upload pics on the computer). In other words, appa and amma, this post is for you to see your dahling first-born now pregnant with number three.
About three weeks ago, Pia visited by herself (yup, WITHOUT her kids, except for the one currently "in the oven"). We had a fun time - the sisters went for high-tea to a lavendar farm and Pia shopped to her heart's content. I have to note for all posterity that her "indulgent" shopping was confined to three visits to Ross (Dress for Less) in three days.
The kids enjoyed having her here and Yohan made up a rhyme and called her "Vah, Vah Pia" the entire time she was here.

Diaper Dude
The little guy loves talking aloud to himself while playing. This morning I found him changing Malaika's teddy bear's diaper with a seriousness and focus that would leave any neurosurgeon in the ER to shame.

Moving along
Malaika's getting quite fast now that's she's discovered crawling. She's able to make her way quite purposefully from one room to another when she finds something or someone that catches her eye. In general, though, she seems to favor the vertical position more than the horizontal one; she gets where she wants to by crawling there, and then quickly finds the nearest support to switch to the upright mode.

Meals on wheels
For a few months now, Shanda A has been doing meals-on-wheels for us once a week, which is a super big blessing. Yo decided he wanted to say thank you as well, and it was captured on video (what isn't, you might ask, but that is another question for another day :)
His mamma has also been teaching him general knowledge stuff - and as far as shapes go, the word 'octagon' is always followed by 'Stop Sign' in his mind. And when Susan tried to teach him to say 'Portland, Oregon', what transpired was 'Portland Octagon Stop Sign'. We're letting it slide for now, since it's just too funny.
