A couple months ago while Gampa and Gama were here we set up bunk beds for the kids in their room, with one of the main ideas being we could save a little space by going vertical instead of spreading out horizontally. However, Yo wasn't too comfortable going up to the top bunk at that time, so we did some quick re-adjusting and kept his fire-truck bed for Mika while he took the bottom bunk. That was a tight squeeze indeed in a 10x10 room.
Over the last few days Yo has been happily going up and down the bunk beds, and so we figured today was the day we'd make the switch. The fire-truck bed has been sadly decommissioned, and both kids are as of now fast asleep in their bunk beds. Yet another milestone.
We had couple costumes per child this Halloween. All of them were homemade or generous hand-me-downs or re-purposed toys. While we did have an opportunity to dress up for playgroup and pre-school, we stayed indoors for Halloween and closed shop at 8 pm. Yeah, we're the Halloween scrooges... sorry, neighborhood kiddos. Mommy wanted the candy ;).
