Just wrapping up the long weekend. On Saturday, we headed for the third time to Slappy Cakes (supposedly popular pancake restaurant) only to be told the wait was one and half to two hours. SO, for the THIRD time we had to find an alternative venue.
And the food carts next to the restaurant turned out perfect. After our fill of Cajun fried chicken, nutella-strawberry crepes, Hawaiin doughnuts and other yumminess, we headed to the Portland aquarium. Super huge letdown. Was like something you might see in the boondoks. But the kids didn't know any better and enjoyed the jellyfish and mini sharks. Mama's fave part came next - outlet mall shopping. And then we headed to Multomah Falls. Blessed to be living in a state where we can see a gorgeous waterfall, go on hike, eat at food carts, shop at the outlet mall and visit an aquarium - all in one day :)

Beach Trip
We've been having some glorious, sun-shiny, very Summer-like Spring Days. So, about 12 hours after Ranjit set foot on American soil (after a business trip), we set out for Seaside.
It was such a sunny day, the kids actually complained about how hot the sand was (the water was a different story though :)). We ate ice-cream and made sand castles - well, dada and the kids made sand castles while mama put her feet up after a week of single mom-ing it. We walked around Main Street, the kids rode the carousel and we played some lame games in the arcade. Perfect sunny Saturday!

66 Books!
It's finally done... after months of (off and on) coaching, both kiddos know all 66 books of the Bible in a song. There's an extra "Kings" and some books no one has seen in a Bible ('Family' and 'Judas') but we're proud of the little people!
