Fun with Gampa & Gama

The kiddos have been truly getting spoiled the last few months. The second set of grandparents arrived a little more than a month ago, and Yo and Mika have been having non-stop entertainment. School in the morning, activities in the afternoon, and g&g time interspersed through the day make for busy but fun days.

Summer Fun with the Grandparents

Every morning, the kids get a lungi-hammock ride with appapa, followed by excessive spoiling through the day from doting grandparents. The kids are loving the attention and we've had some wonderful family time over the last three weeks. We've had birthday parties to attend, a special tapas meal, picnics and boat rides at Blue Lake, berry picking, shopping, a visit to the Lavendar Farm, views of the Airshow, a tour of dada's office, farmer's Market, not to mention trying out different kinds of cuisine (from food trucks grub to olive oil icecream) followed by the Georges (and their daughter) commiserating over pounds gained.

California 2013

Our California trip was one awesome ride. Literally. We embarked on our longest ever road trip. Seven hours to Crescent City, CA. And another 6 hours through the Redwoods to see the cousin and grandparents. While we oohed over the impressive Redwoods, Yo was quite certain that we should stop looking at trees and head straight over to see his cousins!

The reunion was as expected: we lost our kids to grandparents and cousins for the week.

After three days of fun, food and chaos we drove three hours to the sparkling Lake Tahoe for July 4. While Pia and family set up home in the campgrounds with their Bible study group, we booked a hotel in town - us townies haven't yet learned the fine art of roughing it out. The kids had a blast on the beach and all of us had turns kayaking after we tucked into some kebabs grilled on the beach. Yummo. Another 12 hours in the minivan with a stop in Ashland and we were back home with ammama and appapa in tow.
