India - The first three weeks

After dealing with one week of jet-lag, we've finally settled into a routine. The kids are lapping up the attention, mamma is enjoying all the food and has actually read about 50 pages of a book, and the grandparents, friends, relatives and maids are spoiling the munchkins rotten.

It's been party season here - well, at least to the extent that two babies will allow. We've gone to two kids' carnivals, a Christmas play, hosted three parties at home, celebrated mamma's birthday, attended a wedding .... and loads more.

Yohan is still excited about seeing "aa-two's" ('auto' was his first sort of desi word) but is now all pumped about buses and bikes as well. His favorite past-time is to stand at the gate with appapa and watch the traffic. At the end of every day, he is in desperate need of a bath and looks like he has been dragged through a swamp.

Malaika has quite literally found her own voice. For the past couple days, we've been privy to some incredibly loud baby ga-ga's. She may be only four months old but, by the sound of it, has some very strong opinions on goodness knows what. She has also discovered her feet and her asanas will put any yoga teacher to shame.

Now if only dada would hurry up and get here.
